Cathay Theatre is located at 870 Huaihai Middle Road, Shanghai. It was built in 1930 and is an excellent historical building (Art Deco style) in Shanghai. In 2023, protective repairs will be completed, retaining the iconic crimson exterior facade and serrated shape. The interior will be upgraded to a Dolby Cinema, with lighting that blends classic aesthetics with modern projection technology, creating a benchmark space for “cultural memory+immersive viewing”.
