After 10 years of restoration, the old city government building has regained its glory. The Ministry of Works building will undergo renovation and reconstruction, and the newly built office building will enclose the entire block according to historical design intentions, forming a courtyard space open to the public. This renovation is hosted by legendary designer and 2023 Pritzker Prize winner David Chipperfield. He protected the appearance of the original historical building with the concept of minimal intervention and recognizability, and completed the renovation of the old city government building. This building, which has witnessed a hundred years of history and was once known as the “first enclosed building in the Far East”, has finally welcomed the “Century Encirclement”. The TS team, as the flood lighting team for this project, joined hands with DCA to compose the past and present of the old city government building through the focus and guidance of light, allowing this cultural relic building to regain its memory and shine in the new era.
